INFORMATION CENTER
The Foundation serves the global fragrance industry, retail, media, students, libraries, etc., as well as the public at large, in providing a central source for educational and historical information on all aspects of fragrance and the sense of smell.

FRAGRANCE LIBRARY
A comprehensive library is maintained for use by members, students and media which encompasses a collection of current books, videos, CDs, audiotapes and articles on fragrance as well as historical books and manuscripts. There is also an extensive collection of books, articles and research papers on the sense of smell.

FRAGRANCE DIRECTORY
The Fragrance Foundation’s Fragrance Directory is the first comprehensive fragrance resource available online at www.fragrance.org. The unique site, adapted by FiFi® Award winner and author Michael Edwards from his Fragrances of the World.Info marketing database, is a resource tool for specific information on any fragrance currently available in the U.S.

The Directory, which is updated periodically, allows its users to find pertinent fragrance information such as: launch dates (U.S. and European), description, fragrance family category, distributor and company contact information. The Directory is searchable by the following categories: fragrances, gender, fragrance houses, U.S. companies, distribution, fragrance families, fragrances by year, FiFi® winners and Fragrance Hall of Fame winners. The Research Wizard offers the opportunity to make complex searches as well.

INDUSTRY AND CONSUMER PUBLICATIONS
NEW EDITION “From Ancient to Avant Garde, A Guide to the Subtle and Sensational World of Scent” – the Foundation has expanded and updated its “History of Fragrance” pamphlet which now includes the men’s segment. This new publication focuses on the history and pleasures of perfume, as well as how to select and where to purchase fragrance. It also features the art of fragrance packaging. Other publications include: “Living Well with Your Sense of Smell,” “Aromatic Pleasures and the Bath,” and “Fragrance and Olfactory Dictionary.”

FRAGRANCE FORUM
The Fragrance Forum is the Foundation’s newsletter. It contains topical and informative articles focusing on the issues important to our members, along with interviews of industry leaders, book reviews and news and updates on Fragrance Foundation programs. Current and past issues of Fragrance Forum can be accessed on our site in “Perfume News & Interviews.”

THINK TANK SERIES
A wide variety of subjects are addressed by authorities in a range of fields throughout the year. The think tanks focus on current fragrance industry challenges and pertinent industry topics. These small forums (1 to 3 a year) are held at The Fragrance Foundation’s and are open to “members only.”

STATE OF THE INDUSTRY
This event, which is held in November, features a pre-holiday analysis of the fragrance business. An insightful discussion regarding the state of the economy and how it dictates consumer purchasing habits is presented by an expert panel made up of an industry analyst, retail analyst, consumer confidence analyst, industry consultant, etc.

HOT OFF THE PRESS
The Fragrance Foundation, in partnership with NPD Beauty, hosts an annual January event – “HOT OFF THE PRESS.” Participation is exclusive to Fragrance Foundation members and subscribers to NPD Beauty. “HOT OFF THE PRESS” is a year-end highlight report on the prestige beauty market by NPD Beauty, including additional mass market insights from IRI (Information Resources, Inc.) and also focuses on the strategies and promotions that were successful during the past holiday season.

FIFI® AWARDS
The Fragrance Foundation presents the internationally acclaimed Annual “FiFi®” Awards at formal ceremonies in late spring of each year, attended by worldwide members of the fragrance industry. The award categories include: “Fragrance of the Year,” “Bath and Body Line of the Year,” “Best Packaging of the Year,” “Media Campaign of the Year – Men’s & Women’s (for a new or established fragrance),” “Technological Breakthrough of the Year,” “Editorial Excellence in Year-round Fragrance Coverage (men’s, women’s and blog),” “Interior Scent Collection of the Year,” “Perfume Extraordinaire of the Year” and “Retailer of the Year.” The “Fragrance Hall of Fame” Award honors one men’s or women’s fragrance which is 15 or more years old and which successfully established a program that resulted in renewed awareness of the fragrance in the previous year. Election to the “Hall of Fame” honors a unique individual who is the personification of talent, which has distinguished the industry from the beginning.

INTERNATIONAL “FIFI®” AWARDS
The Fragrance Foundation presents the International “FiFi®” Awards, based on nominating and voting procedures, to determine the most unique and successful Men’s and Women’s Fragrance launches of the previous year in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy. The International “FiFi®” is awarded in each country to the winners at special industry receptions/galas. In Italy, the Foundation partners with the Accademia del Profumo in selecting the International “FiFi®” winners. Check the Foundation’s website for the dates of the events in each of these countries. In 2010 FiFi® Award ceremonies will be kicked off in Australia and Dubai.

Annual “Circle of Champions” Award
This award is presented annually, at ceremonies held each October, to an outstanding member of the industry to honor his/her many accomplishments and contributions to the industry. The honoree is selected by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

CAREER DAY
Co-sponsored by The Fragrance Foundation and Sense of Smell Institute, “Making Scents of Your Future” is a one-day career guidance fair geared to New York City/New Jersey high school students. It highlights the career paths available in the fragrance industry and outlines the responsibilities and the requirements needed to succeed. Career Day is an annual event held in the fall.

WHITE PAPERS
The Sense of Smell Institute commissions noted scientific researchers in the field of olfaction to prepare White Papers that review the body of scientific literature available to date on specific topics of interest to the industry. The complete White Papers are posted on the SOSI Research Exchange located on SOSI’S website and can be downloaded as PDF documents.

MEDIA RELATIONS
The Fragrance Foundation initiates fragrance news and responds to press requests from all media here and abroad.

INTERNATIONAL EFFORT
The Fragrance Foundation has license agreements with the following countries: Australia (Fragrance Foundation Australia); France (Association Française pour the Fragrance Foundation France); Germany (Fragrance Foundation Deutschland); United Arab Emirates (Fragrance Foundation Arabia); United Kingdom (Fragrance Foundation UK). The Foundation continues to cooperate with the Academia del Profumo (UNIPRO) in Italy. Plans are underway to enter into license agreements with Russia and Brazil.
