8/4/08 – The Fragrance Foundation Announces Top Test Results of Certified Fragrance Sales Specialists in U. S.
The
online C.F.S.S. Program is designed to broaden the skills and expertise
of the fragrance professional and enhance his/her position in fragrance
sales. It allows the sales specialist to achieve a trusted credential
of professionalism in the fragrance field. The C.F.S.S. Program
conducts two sessions (fall & spring) each year and the top scorer
of both sessions is recognized. The Program was created in 1994 and
to date, well over 6,000 sales specialists have received
certification. Nearly 1,200 fragrance sales specialists participated
in the fall/spring 2007/2008 sessions.
To qualify for the
C.F.S.S. exam, a sales specialist is required to have worked in
fragrance sales for at least one year, receive a recommendation to work
towards certification from his/her supervisor, agree to prepare for the
exam by studying the C.F.S.S. Study Guide and other materials provided
or suggested by The Fragrance Foundation, complete the necessary online
application and fee process and be accepted by the independent
Certification Advisory Board. All candidates who pass the exam receive
the custom designed C.F.S.S. pin and a certificate, acknowledging their
achievement and recognizing them as “Fragrance Ambassadors” in their
stores. For further information on the Program, please refer to the
Foundation’s web site, www.fragrance.org.

Ellen Lapsansky, Executive Director of The Fragrance Foundation,
commented, “The Certification Program, now in its 15th year, has proven
itself to be a valuable tool for the retailer/manufacturer and an
effective approach to increasing fragrance sales. By empowering their
sales specialists with a broader understanding of the fragrance world,
they recognize the value to their bottom line and the benefits to the
consumer. The Foundation is pleased that the Program has steadily
grown over the years, with additional retailers and manufacturers
coming on board each year. This recognition attests to the importance
and worth of becoming a certified fragrance sales specialist.”
